I am sharing with you a very informative, delightful conversation I had with Krista Stryker about fitness and its benefits to our mind, body, and our performance. We talked about how to get started if you’ve never had a proper workout routine, what are the other complementary elements that can add to the benefits of exercise, and how to cultivate the right mindset and the right mental space to not only make exercising part of your daily life but to really feel its benefits. And I feel that Krista shared pointers that we can all use to up our fitness game without feeling the sting. And let’s remember and Krista points it out as well – slow progress really is lasting progress in this case.

Krista Stryker is an NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer and a leading expert on high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and bodyweight fitness. Krista also holds a Kettlebell Concepts certification, a World Calisthenics Organization certification; she is also a Precision Nutrition Certified Coach, a fitness entrepreneur and author. And to think that there was a time when she couldn’t do a single push-up but struggling through that first push-up, she realised that she did have the potential to become an athlete. Her path to where she is today wasn’t easy. As a personal trainer at a gym in New York City, Krista would work out for hours, diligently doing her cardio, weight training, and sports-specific training every day until she was over trained, injured, and had little time for anything else but and in trying to improve those fitness practices and help others, she ended up creating the 12 minute athlete, an app and book. The 12 minute athlete app shares the incredible benefits of HIIT and bodyweight training. It has short, intense workout for maximum impact. It focuses on strength, cardio, functional fitness and core training.
